Dance Stars from around the world perform the most famous classical and neo-classical ballet repertoire, featuring prestigious ballet companies  from Austria, Dominican Republic, England, Italy Netherlands ,Mexico, Spain, Philippines, Uruguay, and the United States represented by their greatest stars. 
“A Life for Dance”Lifetime Achievement Award is presented during this Gala to outstanding worldwide renowned Ballet Dancers, Choreographers & Directors, honoring their legacy and brilliant careers.

All guest Principal Dancers perform at this Gala with a different program. The “Criticism and Culture of Ballet”Award is presented at this Gala honoring the most important national and international dance critics.

Festival’s Poster Unveiling Reception
The IBFM opens with a cocktail reception to unveil the Festival’s Official Poster created every year by a celebrated artist, this year’s poster is created by Cuban artist Javier Dubrocq, ant the Festival’s Award Statue created by Mexican Artist David Camorlinga, as well as the opening of the Art Exhibit Series. This event is by invitation only to our sponsors, donors and the media.

Dance Film Series 
The IBFM has developed a Dance Film Series in collaboration with the Cinemathèque de la Danse de Paris and the Dance Film Association (New York).  Through this Film Series the Festival’s aim is to educate the public by presenting dance documentaries and films highlighting the beauty of this art form.

Workshops
The IBFM has developed a series of workshops offered to intermediate and advanced dance students during the two weeks of the Festival, featuring national and international instructors invited for their reputation, teaching abilities and technique, offering classes in classical ballet, modern, contemporary dance and jazz.  The students will have the chance to learn new dance styles and techniques with the Festival’s guest teachers.

Ballet Master Classes
Selected students will be invited to observe the Ballet master classes offered to the Festival’s guest principal dancers at the different venues of the performances.

Art Exhibit Series
Every year the IBFM present a thematic art exhibition inspired by dance and selects a different artist to create the Festival’s Official Poster. During the month of August they will have the opportunity to showcase their art at Pena’s Gallery.  This year the Exhibit will include works by Cuban artist Javier Dubrocq and a special exhibition of ballet costumes and props.

Book Presentation
The IBFM has created a space for the special presentation of Magazines & Books dedicated to the dance. Authors are present for the release and signing of their books and interviewed by Miami Herald critic Orlando Taquechel. Book Presentations are open to the public and free of charge

I- In collaboration with Fundacion Apogeo, presentation of the August edition of Caritate Magazine.

​​II-“Victoria Ellis, Cosmic Ballerina”,by Patricia Aulestia and Michell Snow, tells the incredible real story of one of the most prominent dancers in post-revolutionary Mexico. ​III- “Dance in Miami” Documents the inside story of Miami’s rich dance world and the influence of Great International Dancers and Choreographers, written by Miami Herald’s reviewer Orlando Taquechel.  Author will be interviewed by Roger Salas from El Pais, Spain.
