Arts and Culture Festival June 29th, 2007This month Viernes Culturales welcomes two local bands to its main stage in collaboration with the 8th Annual IFE-ILE Afro-Dance Music festival. The night will be charged with Afro Cuban sounds and dances featuring bands such as Agape and Son Miami Orchestra. In addition to the music, there will also be live performances and fine art exhibitions through 8th Street between 14th and 16th avenues starting at 7:00 p.m. Agape is a new sound fit and reflective of the new millennium. The band offers an international sound that encompasses neo-soul, dub, broken-beat, nu-jazz, latin and dub-house. Son Miami Orchestra is a ten-piece modern charanga ensemble that brings a touch of latin jazz. A live performance at the Domino Plaza will include DJ Erik Paredes, who will be spinning soulful latin beats while artist of the month Eva Ruiz will be painting live.
