On December 28th, Viernes Culturales / Cultural Fridays, the monthly event on Calle 8, will be concluding its activities for 2007 with a night filled with music, exhibitions and cultural activities for the whole family to enjoy. Visual art exhibitions will be taking place that night at the Calle 8 galleries, presenting works by artists in residency as well as invited guest artists.
On the Main Stage there will be a concert by Lisset La Mulata del Sabor and her orchestra at 10:00 p.m. This is an orchestra from Miami made up of young Latin talented musicians, and the lead singer Lisett Morales, who is the typical "mulata cubana": pretty, sexy, with a spicy flavor. Her deep and strong voice is what makes her different and authentic.
Another musical appearance for the night will be the band Combinacion de la Habana, performing at 9:00 p.m. For those who remember, they are a treasured memory eagerly relived, and for those who have yet to know, Combinacion De La Habana is a new musical experience to behold. They are a collective of Cuban musicians from the era of the glorious Son, dedicated to the revival of true music, love and laughter. These virtuosos were once part of bands like Conjunto Casino, Charanga Rubalcaba, Orquesta Sencacion, Los Bacucos among others. Their new album, Que Combinación is a musical foray into the past, blending with and blurring the lines to the present while pointing the way to the future.

Viernes Culturales / Cultural Fridays is celebrating the Hispanic Heritage Month this October and has prepared a myriad of live performance and activities for the whole family to enjoy. Music, performing arts and visual arts will coincide in Miami's Calle Ocho between 14th and 16th Avenues.
