Wherever they play, Davide and Daniele capture audiences with their original style, their unison and their fantastic energy. Deeply rooted in the music of the great classical composers with a passion for the works of their own time, their repertoire reaches from the masters of the 18th Century to those of the 21th. They are equally interested in the works by jazz composers such as Gershwin, Piazzolla, Sollima and Trovesi, which they often transcribe for two pianos, and works by contemporary composers, such as de Cervin, Randazzo, and Zabel.
Three of the composers featured in Sunday’s concert have written works commissioned by the Dranoff: Gabriela Lena Frank, John Corigliano and Lowell Lieberman. Duo Trivella will perform Ms. Frank’s and Mr. Corigliano’s commissions; we have chosen a different piece by Mr. Liebermann for the concert.
