Presented by the Miami Hispanic Ballet, the International Ballet Festival of Miami opened recently with a poster unveiling ceremony and the launching of the Dance Film Series at the historic Tower Theater in Miami during the popular Cultural Fridays night on SW 8th Street.
The event also includes a unique spot for young talent organized with the foremost competition organization “Youth America Grand Prix” Director, Larissa Saveliev: the International Young Ballet Medalists Performance at the Manuel Artime Theater on September 5th and a Contemporary Performance at the Colony Theater on September 6th, as well as dance workshops at In Motion Dance Studio.
The Etoiles Grand Classical Gala takes place at The Fillmore Miami Beach Jackie Gleason Theater on September 12th, where organizers present the Lifetime Achievement Award “A Life for the Dance” to the legendary prima ballerina Lupe Serrano. The Festival Closing Gala at the Jackie Gleason Theater takes place on September 13th, where a second award is presented to the famous dance critic, Anna Kisselgoff, formerly of the New York Times.
