Oct 15th, 2010. 6:00 p.m. Tarell Alvin McCraney, award-winning international playwright will be offering a special gift to New World School of the Arts to celebrate his 30th birthday to launch NWSA’s 2010-2011 theater season.

Oct 8th through Nov 7th, 2010. Actors’ Playhouse at the Miracle Theatre opens the 2010 – 2011 season with The Color of Desire, a world premiere play by Pulitzer Prize-winner Nilo Cruz, author of Anna in the Tropics.

Oct 2nd, 2010. 8:00 p.m. The Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County and Miami Dade College’s Cultura del Lobo Performance Series proudly announce the Miami debut of Mexico’s premier contemporary dance company, Tania Perez-Salas compaÑia de danza.

Sept 18th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. My House is Your House dance-drama explores the functionality of individuals within a unit such as a family or a community.

2010 – 2011. New Theatre’s 25th Anniversary season continues to fulfill our mission “to produce vibrant theatre that stimulates, provokes, challenges, and entertains by cultivating ‘New Voices- New Works and the Classics’” while bringing to life its theme for this season “overcoming adversity”.

Michelle Rosenfarb’s The Gates of Choice. August 15th, 2010. 7:30 p.m. Local playwright and Carbonell Award nominee, Michelle Rosenfarb, was recently accepted into the MFA Dramatic Writing Program at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and will commence this prestigious program in the fall.

From Jul 7th through Sept 5th, 2010. After the success that accompanied Caldwell Theatre’s 2009 Summer season, Artistic Director Clive Cholerton has chosen again to counter program against traditional summer fare, and will produce a World premiere in Joel Gross’s highly emotional romantic drama, The Comfort of Darkness, preceded by the Southeastern premiere of Bob Clyman’s successful comedic thriller, Secret Order.

From Jan 22nd through Feb 14th, 2010. New Theatre presents South Florida playwright and historian Sandra Riley’s World Premiere of The Hour of the Tiger, where two women from different worlds struggle against tradition to find personal and artistic freedom.  This production marks Sandra Riley’s first play produced at New Theatre.
