The Grapes of Wrath. August 7th, 2008. 7:00 p.m.The Wolfsonian Museum, located at 1001 Washington Avenue in Miami Beach, presents its ongoing Summer Film Series with several evenings of free and open to the public screenings starting at 7:00 p.m.
On August 7th, 2008 the featured film will be The Grapes of Wrath (1940, USA, John Ford, 100 min, b&w, 16mm). The film tells the story of an Okie family that loses its farm during the Great Depression and takes to the road, traveling Route 66 as migrant workers. They journey from the Dust Bowl to California in search of work and opportunity. One of the first movies included in the National Film Registry and based on the Pulitzer Prize winning book by John Steinbeck.
