Sunset Place. August 24th, 2010. 7:30 p.m.
The Miami International Film Festival and The Miami Film Society invite you to a sneak preview of Mao’s Last Dancer on Tuesday, August 24th, 2010 at 7:30 p.m., at Sunset Place.
Mao’s Last Dancer is the inspirational true story of world-class ballet dancer Li Cunxin, adapted from his best-selling autobiography and telling how, amidst the chaos of Mao’s Cultural Revolution, he was chosen to leave his peasant family and sent on an amazing journey…as it turned out toward freedom and personal triumph.
From Academy Award® nominees Bruce Beresford (director, Driving Miss Daisy), Jane Scott (producer, Shine) and Jan Sardi (screenwriter, Shine, The Notebook), Mao’s Last Dancer weaves a moving tale about the quest for freedom and the courage it takes to live your own life. The film poignantly captures the struggles, triumphs and the intoxicating effects of first love and celebrity amid the pain of exile.
Seating is limited and invitation is on a first-come, first-served basis.
Complimentary admission plus one guest for Miami Film Society Members and Miami International Film Festival Partners
