The workshop Embracing Entrepreneurship: How a Creative Approach Can Transform Your Art, Build New Audiences & Make You Successful will be held on Saturday, April 10th, 2010, from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Broward College- Central Campus, Building 4- Performing Arts- Room 104, 3501 SW Davie Road, in Davie.
An interactive, full-day workshop devoted to helping performing artists achieve greater professional success, create opportunities, build an “empire,” market powerfully, and engage new audiences. The session will also examine the critical elements often overlooked, or misunderstood, by performing artists such as entrepreneurship, product development, branding, marketing, networking, the new recording paradigm, personal finance, funding, relevance, and legacy. This professional development program will help musicians and performing artists take control of their career by discovering opportunities that are both prosperous and meaningful, and with ideas on how to advance their career, income, and impact.
David Cutler’s new book The Savvy Musician: Building a Career, Earning a Living, & Making a Difference, was heralded by Jeffrey Zeigler of the Kronos Quartet as “Hands down, the most valuable resource available for aspiring musicians.” Dr. Cutler balances a varied career as a jazz and classical composer, pianist, arranger, educator, conductor, collaborator, concert producer, author, blogger and consultant.
