Cuban-Venezuelan pianist Carl Lauderman will be presenting an evening titled “Music About Kings and Queens,” Saturday June 30, 2012 at 7:30 p.m. at All Saints Episcopal Church.
This exciting concert will feature classical and popular music written for actual kings and queens of royalty as well as “kings” and “queens” of different genres of music. Well-known beautiful classical selections will include March of the Kings (Bizet), Arrival of the Queen of Sheba (Handel), Queen of the Night (Mozart), Polovstian Dance (Borodin), In the Hall of the Mountain King (Grieg), and God Save the Queen Variations (Beethoven).
Popular hits will highlight notable kings and queens such as King Koopa, The Lion King, Michael Jackson, Ernesto Lecuona, Damaso Perez Prado, and the classic band Queen.
No tickets are required to attend the concert. A free-will offering or donation will be accepted at the door. A portion of the proceeds from the concert will go to support music programs for children and adults at Centro Hispano de Todos Los Santos and Saint Ambrose Episcopal Church.
Miami native Carl Lauderman, a graduate of Florida International University School of Music, resides in Fort Lauderdale where he is Music Minister at Saint Ambrose Episcopal Church and Centro Hispano de Todos Los Santos. He is also is the Music Director of the New River Children’s Chorus and teaches piano and voice at Lauderman Piano Studio. Carl Lauderman is a solo artist featured annually as part of the RiverSounds Concert Series at All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Lauderdale.
