This stunningly powerful and electrifying performance event by an all Miami group of choreographers and dancers includes male choreographers celebrating the significant contribution of women in their lives.
Sharron Lynn Williams former artist with AILEY II and The Lion King will perform a powerhouse solo work, AILEY star, Jamar Roberts’s new work is a duet danced by Martha Graham principal dancer, Lloyd Knight and company dancer Leon Cobb, Overtown Center artist, Kashia Kancey electrifying and unapologetic new work is based on the lives of Harriet Tubman, Sojourner Truth and Rosa Parks, as well as her “WAR OF THE WOMEN”; a tour de force of unbridled resistance and unflinching athleticism.
Included in this thrilling explosion of creative power is South Florida’s cutting edge choreographic artists and phenomenal dancers Jacqueline Bulnes, artist with Limon Dance Company and former Martha Graham soloist, Melissa Fernandez of Ballet Hispanico NYC, Justin Rapaport of Ballet BC. Vancouver, Gentry Isaiah George, Zest Collective founding Artistic Director and former artist with Dance Theater of Harlem and AILEY II. Herman Payne will perform and create a new work for PLGDC male dancers. Peter London will also premiere a new work for this bold, beautiful and timely choreographic offering in celebration of women and girls everywhere.
