Performing Arts Network stages Encore in Temporary Studio

January 2010.

Performing Arts Network (PAN), retakes center stage in a temporary facility at 13146 W. Dixie Highway in North Miami following a devastating fire that destroyed its former studio and black-box theatre in June 2009.

“We have scheduled a well rounded season of performances and classes in music, dance and theatre for people of all ages,” says Artist Director Ilisa Rosal. “PAN is also planning a benefit concert on March 14th to assist with rebuilding efforts and we invite artists, organizations and individuals to contact us if they are interested in providing programming and support.”

PAN’s 2010 performance season will include Ballet Flamenco La Rosa, The Breffni Irish Dancers, Dance Now! Ensemble, The Children’s African Dance Company, Ayezan Creole Afro-Haitian Music and Dance Company, the Meridian Ensemble and performance artist Lela Lombardo.

Each year PAN presents a diverse schedule of classes designed to provide the whole family with the opportunity to stay fit and healthy while learning to creatively express themselves under the guidance of some of the best performing artists in South Florida. Classes include ballet, modern dance, creative movement, jazz, hip-hop, salsa, flamenco, Middle Eastern and African dance, and Zumba-a dynamic new dance/exercise class. PAN also provides classes in acting in English and Spanish, drumming, rap and singing, piano, guitar, voice, children’s chorus, music writing and yoga. Classes are offered for children and adults at all levels, with both group and private lessons available.

Flamenco instructor Annie Garcia will be conducting classes along with new programs taught by Ballet Flamenco La Rosa Artistic Director Ilisa Rosal. Classes ranging from beginning children to beginning, intermediate and advanced levels for teens and adults will be offered along with Flamenco singing and guitar.

Ballet Flamenco La Rosa will be developing its student company that will train to perform with the professional company in future. There will also be workshops with the legendary La Tati and other guest artists from Spain during the 2010 season. PAN will also be teaching and training its student Jazz/Hip-Hop Company, Rhythm Moves, and the Children’s African Dance Company.
