From June 8 through 14, 2012.
Opening night: June 8, 2012. 7:00 and 10:00 p.m.
The exclusive Miami Premiere run of the star-studded comedy-drama Peace, Love & Misunderstanding is taking place at the Coral Gables Art Cinema starting June 8th. Two-time Oscar-nominated director Bruce Beresford showcases a return-to-the-big-screen performance from two-time Oscar-winner Jane Fonda in this story which explores the ties that bind in a light but touching way. It is a funny and sweet portrait of an unconventional family’s chaotic reunion with three warring generations headed by Fonda’s character, a legendary hippie and hilariously groovy grandma, with a cast that includes Catherine Keener, Elizabeth Olson, Chase Crawford and Jeffrey Dean Morgan.
For uptight Manhattan lawyer Diane (Oscar-nominee Keener), crazy means driving her teenage son Jake and daughter Zoe (Olsen) to Woodstock to visit their uber-hipppie grandmother Grace, who they’ve never met. Over one hot summer, Grace and Diane find themselves letting go of the past, as every family member embraces their own new choices. What’s meant to be a weekend getaway turns into a summer adventure of romance, music, family secrets, and self-discovery. Variety calls Love, Peace & Misunderstanding “A big burst of positive energy…a crowdpleasing, heartfelt comedy.” The film will play seven days a week and is rated R.
An Opening Night party for Peace, Love & Misunderstanding will take place on Friday, June 8, with screenings at 7:00 and 10:00 pm. There will be a Q&A following both screenings of the film with the film’s producer Claude Dal Farra via a live video-link connection. Between the two screenings, a reception will take place from 9:00 to 10:00 pm in the Cinema’s lobby and outdoor plaza for anyone who purchases a ticket for either show.
