Digging Up the Past and Historic District Walking Tour OngoingCurrently at the Old Fort Lauderdale Museum of History, there is an exhibition organized in conjunction with the Palm Beach Museum of Natural History entitled Digging Up the Past. The exhibition features an installation of artifacts uncovered in the 1996-1997 archaeological excavation of the site of the second Stranahan Trading Post. Built in 1906 by Ed King, the building burned in 1912 and was quickly replaced by the Oliver Building. Recovered artifacts, historical photos and related trading post merchandise are included in this installation. The museum also offers its Historic District Walking Tour where visitors can enjoy a docent led tour of Old Fort Lauderdale and the Fort Lauderdale Historic District every Saturday at 12:00 p.m. For more information, please call: 954.463.4431
