Nodus Ensemble at Miami Art Central

October 21st, 2006Miami Art Central is presenting a concert that features works by composers that have incorporated visual images into their music either by combining them with computer generated sounds and/or more traditional orchestral instruments as well as those that have collaborated with visual artists in the creation of their works. Works to be presented include those by Eve Beglarian, Kristine Burns, Orlando Jacinto Garcia, Dennis Miller, Judith Shatin, and Reynold Weidenaar. Initiated by faculty composer Orlando Jacinto Garcia, Nodus is the contemporary music ensemble in residence at Florida International University’s School of Music. Nodus specializes in the cutting edge Art music of our time. The makeup of the ensemble varies for each concert depending on the works being presented.
