As one of the most anticipated performance of the college, the New World School of the Arts College BFA Dance Concert will present 20 Hues of 15, a program that showcases the dancers’ various talents, creativity, training and passion. This diverse group of 20 dancers, – BFA candidates from the class of 2015, has produced a mosaic of choreography and film with each dance, unique in its own way, yet fitted together as an entire picture.
The BFA Dance Concert choreography includes: At the Midnight Hour, by Angela Fegers, was inspired by eleutheromania – the intense and irresistible desire for freedom. It is a dance-theater piece that utilizes live-music and surprising scenic elements to create an eerie and intriguing world.
Bowser’s Demise by Jovahnie Funderburk, offers a fun, comedic andexciting choreography inspired by everyone’s favorite video game: Super Mario. Through props, costumes, choreography and casting, Jovahnie successfully pulls the audience into theworld of Super Mario. Funderburk is a New York native who has attended NWSA during High School and College.
Rêves à L’envers, dance/film installation by Monica Sharon, features the art of dance and movement through the filmmaker’s lens. Rêves à L’envers will be situated in a dance studio adjacent to the entrance of the theater, and will be open for viewing throughout the performances each evening.
