September 2009.
Leal’s Gallery is one of the newest additions to Calle 8 District. The space was introduced by father and son Nestor and Aleksejs Leal in February of this year, with the purpose of fulfilling their dream of exhibiting and promoting Cuban and Latin American Art, as well as providing framing services.
The Leals, who have been avid art collectors for quite some time, decided to give a boost to their passion and created this space to consolidate their take on the Miami’s art community. They are offering the gallery to artists regardless of their style, technique or discipline in order to keep an open atmosphere that fosters creativity. At Leal’s Gallery, visitors can find works by Nelson Dominguez, Hector Cata, Vicente Rodriguez Bonachea, Marcelino Vizcaino, Abel Quintero, Aisar Abdala Jalil, Andres Retamero, Pedro Avila, Gonzalez Quevedo, Kamyl Bullaudy, Zenen Viscaino, Hector Molne, Cundo Bermudez, Roberto Fabelo, Jose Bedia, Servando Cabrera, Mariano Rodriguez, Alejandro Montecino and Wifredo Lam.
In the midst of this economic crisis, Leal’s Gallery rises as a promise to keep alive the dream of real entrepreneurship, hard work and true passion for the arts. The public is invited to pass by the gallery on any given day to have a “cafecito” and enjoy the art displayed. The gallery is open late on Viernes Culturales / Cultural Friday nights and several exhibition openings are planned throughout the year.
