In light of the 400th anniversary of the great Bard’s passing, the lectures explore how emergent Shakespeare has become in modern life. “Shakespeare: Drama, Music & Art” by Professor Emeritus Frank Cooper focuses on the musical and visual works inspired by A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Romeo and Juliet, The Tempest, and other lesser-known plays.
To learn more about composers Felix Mendelssohn, Sergei Prokofiev, and Christos Hatzis; fanciful paintings and sculptures ranging from the 17th to 20th centuries; and costume designs that appear in motion pictures.
