Celebrating The Rich Diversity of Jewish Life From Jan 18th through 28th, 2007The Miami Jewish Film Festival, hosted in different venues through Miami Dade and Broward, is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this year with the theme: The Rich Diversity of Jewish Life. Stories of heroes and underdogs, illusion and reality, tradition and modernity all come alive in a variety of unforgettable features, romantic comedies, shorts and documentaries. A line up of unique events is planned throughout the month to celebrate, educate and entertain. The festival is filled with an extraordinary line up of screenings, guest actors and directors who make it all happen. New this year, The New York Sephardic Film Festival joins the Miami festivities for a full day of films at the Sunrise Cinema. Sephardic Jews originated in the Iberian Peninsula or are of Arabic and Persian decent and presents another voice of Jewish life. During the week, film lovers can see a re-creation of New York’s Lower East Side with specialty foods and klezmer-style music, prior to the screening at the Gusman Center for the Performing Arts. Shorts on South Beach is back with eight humorous film screenings at the Regal on Lincoln Road. During the week teens participating in the Young Filmmakers Institute, will see their work on the big screen, along with the acclaimed Argentinean film Hermanas.
