Miami Dade College’s Miami International Film Festival (MIFF) Executive Director, Jaie Laplante will announce and discuss the Festival’s 2014 program highlights including CINEDWNTWN Galas presented by Miami Downtown Development Authority, Knight Competitions, Lexus Opera Prima Ibero-American Competition, Papi Shorts Competition presented by Macy’s, Special Presentation categories, Career Achievement Tribute honoree and unprecedented additions to MIFF’s traditional lineup. The press conference, to be held at Miami Dade College Wolfson Campus Auditorium, will also feature a surprise celebrity guest.
Announcement of several programming highlights for MIFF’s 31st edition which will run from Friday, March 7 through Sunday, March 16, 2014. The conference will commence with a special video capturing the Festival’s program highlights. Following the video presentation, Laplante will reveal the Festival’s attending celebrities and other notables. MIFF is considered the preeminent film festival for showcasing Ibero-American cinema in the U.S., and a major launching pad for all international and documentary cinema. As an MDCulture event, the festival is guided by an internationally respected educational institution and cultural beacon.
