Considered a ground-breaking intersection of music, dance, literature and film, the 2017 Mainly Mozart Festival finale reimagines a festive and thought-provoking portrayal of Jewish folk wedding traditions and the genesis of their mystic roots. It includes music by Shostakovich, Prokofiev, Bloch, Feidman, Krein and Pigovat.
Conceived by the Artistic Director of the Miami Chamber Music Society, internationally acclaimed pianist Marina Radiushina, this world premiere is a production created in close collaboration with Mitchell Chefitz, world-renowned author, storyteller, and teacher of Jewish spiritual discipline. Musicians of the Cleveland and Cincinnati Symphony Orchestras and Miami City Ballet dancers are also part of this production with original choreography by Adriana Pierce.
