India: The Exotic Journey May 4th, 2007The Hip and Humble Home is showcasing the large-scale canvas prints of Digital Media Artist Laurence Gartel, titled, Gartel India: The Exotic Journey. The exhibition comprises the work done by Gartel during his travel throughout the entire India shortly after the Tsunami disaster in 2005. What he came away with was thousands of spiritual images and iconic holy symbols of another culture deeply rooted in spirituality. The result is a mix of imagery unfound in the deepest parts of India mixed with computer generated enhancement. Old and new seem to synergize seamlessly as one of the earliest cultures on earth fuses with technology. Of Gartel’s trip he said, “Seeing temples of hundreds of years old inspired a new level of consciousness within me, thus producing works that move the soul.” Gartel India: The Exotic Journey will have an opening reception, at Hip and Humble Home Showroom on Friday, May 4th, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. Hip and Humble Home is located at 251 North Federal Highway in Boca Raton, Florida.
