The Alliance Française of Miami is presenting an afternoon of music featuring the concert Jazz & Bach with violist Guillaume Roy and violinist Claude Halter.
Guillaume Roy is the founder of the IXI Quatuor, which is also integrated by Regis Huby, Irene Lecoq, and Alain Grange. Roy never ceases to explore the possibilities of reinterpretation through improvisation. He has a real passion for teaching, and has directed the jazz department of the ENMD (National School of Music and Dance of Evry) since 1983.
Claude Halter is originally from Paris but moved to the United States in 2001. Since then, he has been heard playing nationwide as a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral leader. At the age of 8 Halter began his musical education at the Maitrise de Paris where he was a member of the acclaimed boy’s choir. He moved to the United States when he was 19 to pursue a Bachelor’s degree at Lawrence University and a Master’s degree at the San Francisco Conservatory. Claude currently resides in Miami Beach where he performs with the New World Symphony.
