Fundraising Auction. March 21st, 2010.
Miami based Gallery Schuster has set-up an initiative to provide a small contribution itself and encourage galleries in the city of Berlin, affiliated artists, local and regional art centers, museum directors and collectors to donate artworks for the auction of high-class pieces of international art. The artworks will be presented at the Haiti’s Cultural Center in Miami on Sunday March 21st, but since March 15th, 2010 online visitors can follow it and bid on the donated artwork at www.galleryschuster.com/haiti. Bids are accepted over the internet or by email at [email protected]
The people in Haiti urgently need logistical, medical and psychological relief in order to fight the challenges of their new reality and feel encouraged to build a new future. The fundraising weekend starts during the opening reception of the exhibition of Haitian artist Didier William on Saturday March 20th, 2010 from 4:00 to 9:00 p.m. at Gallery Schuster located at 2085 NW 2nd Avenue in Miami, FL.
Presentation of art works starts on Sunday March 21st at 12:00 a.m. at the Little Haiti Cultural Center located at 212 NE 59th Terrace, in Miami, FL. Followed by a bi-cultural reception Germany-Haiti at 4:00 p.m. Last bid will be received at 6:00 p.m. with a closing ceremony.
All proceeds will be donated to Doctors without Borders, which provides aid in nearly 60 countries to people whose survival is threatened by violence, neglect, or catastrophe, primarily due to armed conflict.
