The Grand Delusion February 26th, 2007GableStage Theatre, located at the Biltmore Hotel in Coral Gables, is presenting the play The Grand Delusion on February 26th, 2007 at 7:30 p.m. Written by David Rock and Directed by Josh Braun, the piece has been already announced as a finalist for the O’Neill Playwrighting Conference, which many consider the country’s most prestigious. The Grand Delusion is a dark comedy, interpreted by Antonio Amadeo Sandra Ives, David Kwiat, Wayne LeGette and Frank Rodriguez, about failed diplomacy before the First World War. The play imagines a secret summit of world leaders and diplomats that preceded the call to arms in 1914. David Rock, the writer, is a graduate of New World School of the Arts High School Theatre Department and the NYU Tisch Dramatic Writing Program. He has written for the animated show “Baydogs”, was a finalist in 2005 for the Warner Bros.Television Writing Workshop and was a founding member of “The Schmendrix” a Los Angeles Comedy Troupe that performed original material all around the city.The Tisch Alumni Council has named him a featured writer for 2007 and a short piece of his, “Enron: Not a Fair Accounting” will appear in their annual showcase on March 12th.
