The Education Fund’s annual charity auction, “For the Love of Art,” will showcase more than 150 original pieces of artwork created by Miami-Dade County public school students and teachers. This Children’s Trust sponsored event showcases artwork crafted from materials found at The Education Fund’s Ocean Bank Center for Educational Materials, a warehouse with donated supplies where teachers can shop for free. “For the Love of Art” also kicks off Miami Romance Month in June for the Greater Miami Convention and Visitors Bureau, one of the lead sponsors of the auction.
For the Love of Art features the Sapoznik Insurance Alumni Achievement Awards, which honors 17 extraordinary community leaders who graduated from public schools. This year The Education Fund honors those whose entrepreneurship and leadership have energized the local economy through the creation of jobs, small businesses and strong local economic development. For the Love of Art kicks off Miami Romance Month by event sponsor Greater Miami and Convention and Visitor’s BureauIn addition. So bring your love bid on student art and more than 100 luxury items, take in performances by the New World School of the Arts Jazz Band, enjoy Bacardi drinks, and a Whole Foods Market epicurean feast. CBS4 Meteorologist Lissette Gonzalez will emcee the event.
