Florida Grand Opera’s Broward affiliate, The Opera Society, will host the company’s 78th Season Anniversary Gala on Saturday, February 9, 2019, at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts. The gala will support The Opera Society’s mission to foster community interest in opera, promote friendship and provide charitable, education and cultural projects throughout Broward County. In addition, proceeds will benefit FGO’s future productions, education and outreach initiatives, which impact over 21,000 individuals in Broward County each season.
This enchanting black-tie gala will begin with a prosecco reception in the Abdo New River Room at 5:00 PM, followed by a performance of Mozart’s The Marriage of Figaro at 6:00 PM in the Au-Rene Theater. “We look forward to everyone experiencing the sensational production of Le Nozze di Figaro, featuring an international cast, many of whom are returning including, some graduates of the FGO Studio making their debut in principal cast roles.
After the opera, guests will enjoy dinner inspired by the opera, The Marriage of Figaro, in the Abdo New River Room, followed by desert and dancing.
Dr. Linda Balent, Chairman, FGO Board of Directors and Jan Solomon, President, The Opera Society are chairing the gala.
*Individual ticket prices are $500 or $5,000 for a table of ten.
Tickets to The Marriage of Figaro are sold separately and range from $21 to $200.
