April 14, 2012. 7:00 – 10:00 p.m.
Florida Grand Opera (FGO) and Dorsch Gallery will host an Opera Preview of FGO’s upcoming production of Roméo et Juliette during the Wynwood Second Saturday Art Walk on April 14 from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
Designed to provide attendees with a sampling of the beautiful French music from this operatic retelling, the event will feature mini-performances by members of FGO’s Young Artist Studio. Come hear well-known arias from Roméo et Juliette amid Dorsch Gallery’s current exhibitions, which include a group show entitled Let’s Begin with a Line and Ralph Provisero’s solo show, For Old Times’ Sake. The group show is a vignette designed to observe and enjoy the linear, while Provisero’s human-scale kinetic sculpture communicates ambivalence toward typically joyful childhood objects.
The popular French opera Roméo et Juliette comes to life through innovative light projections and set design, dynamic stage fighting and masterful voices on April 21 at the Arsht Center for the Performing Arts.
