From Nov 5th through Nov 9th, 2008. Continuing its tradition of bringing the best of world cinema to South Florida, The Miami International Film Festival, Miami Dade College and Centro Cultural Español Miami with the collaboration of MDC’s Tower Theater, will present an eclectic collection of Spanish films during a week-long festival beginning Wednesday, November 5th through Sunday, November 9th, 2008 at MDC’s Tower Theater in Little Havana. The event will kick-off with a cocktail reception and screening of "Under the Stars / Bajo Las Estrellas," directed by Félix Viscarret.
The festival will also feature Jaime Rosales’ "Solitary Fragments," winner of this year’s Best Film and Best Director Goya Awards; Seven Billiard Tables by Gracia Querejeta’s, awarded the Goya for Best Lead Actress and Best Supporting Actress; "Me" by Rafa Cortés, winner of the Critic’s prize at the International Film Festival Rotterdam; and "Mataharis" by Iciar Bollaín, a MIFF 25th Anniversary Gusman Premiere.
All films throughout the festival will be screened at MDC’s Tower Theater and tickets to each screening will be on sale at the theater’s box office up to a half-hour before show time.
