Miami Piano Circle. May 29th, 2009.7:00 p.m. The Miami Piano Circle will present Dionisio and Martin Camacho in the exciting Miami preview of their Carnegie Hall debut on May 29th, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. at the Steinway Gallery in Coral Gables. The program will feature standard works of Chopin, Liszt, and Prokofiev as well as contemporary Latin composers Jose Gil and M. Ruiz Armengol in a breathtaking program.
Dionisio Camacho completed his masters studies in 2006 at Arizona State in the studio of pianist Caio Pagano. He was born in Mexico City and began his musical studies under the instruction of Ana Maria Tradatti in the Escuela Superior de Musica where he earned his bachelor degree in music. He continued his studies at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music where he was a student of the renowned pianist Sergei Babayan. Camacho received a Professional Studies Diploma (2003) from the Cleveland Institute of Music and has received full-tuition scholarship in every school attended.
Camacho won the Young Artist Competition organized by the Institute of Fine Arts in Mexico City at the age of eighteen, which allowed him to play his first professional piano recital. He also won the Concerto Competition organized by Orquesta Sinfonica de Guanajuato and the Concerto Competition organized by Escuela Superior de Musica. As a first prizewinner of the “Interamerican Piano Competition” he was awarded a scholarship to study at the prestigious Cleveland Institute of Music. In 2004 Dionisio was the winner of the Klatzkin competition organized by Arizona State University.
Mr. Camacho also played a live recital for WCLV the Classical Radio Station in Cleveland, Ohio. Dionisio has also performed extensively as a recitalist in the United States and Mexico and also been very active in chamber music repertoire. He currently serves in the music faculty of Barry University.
