The Diana Lowenstein Gallery announces the opening of its next two solo exhibitions by longtime gallery artists Chu Teppa and Alejandra Padilla.
Collages & Drawings is a series of Papiros, originated in 2000 and enriched until the present by Alejandra Padilla. Each collage is unique and handmade using original materials. Made out of thousands of small tubes of rolled paper, they become a sort of revival of optical art, in which the effects become sensations. These collages indicate a pursuit of the greatest visual seduction with a minimal amount of resources. Padilla was born in Argentina, where she continues to live and work. She has participated in solo and group exhibitions internationally since 1994. She was awarded a Creative Woman Award by Citibank Argentina in 2015.
My Parallel Universe goes back to the earliest days of the artist. She strives to transmit sensations and memories of a magical universe coming from her childhood. Chu Teppa was born in Cordoba, Argentina and has been living and working in the United States since 2000. She studied at the Superior School of Industrial Design in Cordoba before exploring and developing her interest in children’s mythology. Her work has been exhibited internationally.
