Long celebrated for its use by iconic artists such as Andy Warhol, screenprinting is an easy crowd favorite capable of producing fine art quality results. Introduction to Screen Printing on Paper is the ideal course for beginners to learn the basic tools and technique necessary for understanding the silk screening process. In this course, students will learn how to coat a silkscreen with light-sensitive emulsion, burn their designs, and print directly onto Fine Art quality paper.
During the workshop, students will be introduced to the various tools needed to make an edition of prints. They will leave the class with multiple prints of their own design on paper.

Nick Mahshie
Nick Mahshie is a textile designer and artist from Miami, Florida. He holds a Masters of Design in Fashion, Body & Garment from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, where he worked under the renowned visual artist, Nick Cave, and a BFA in Painting from Rhode Island School of Design (’07). Mahshie is also the Youth Programs Coordinator at the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami, and has taught classes at The School of the Art Institute of Chicago, New Orleans Museum of Art, Le Petit Bain (Paris) and the Children’s Museum of Art in New York City.
