Friday Feb 21 – at 8:00 p.m. | Saturday Feb 22 – at 8:00 p.m.
Tchaikovsky is often considered the most Romantic of composers. His Fifth Symphony has long been an audience favorite for its soaring, memorable melodies and deeply passionate, emotional richness. Before intermission, Arabella Steinbacher joins the Orchestra for Prokofiev’s fiery First Violin Concerto.
Popular culture note: The second movement of Tchaikovsky’s Fifth Symphony inspired the songs “Moon Love,” recorded by both Glenn Miller and Chet Baker, and “Annie’s Song” by John Denver.
