City Theatre is excited to take its shorts on the road for two special productions of CITY SHORTS from February 10 – 12, 2017 at South Miami-Dade Cultural Arts Center and February 16 – 17, 2017 in the Abdo New River Room at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
City Theatre, well known nationally for its production of short plays, and the recognized regional leader of the Summer Theatre Season with its annual SUMMER SHORTS Festival, has created a special traveling program of “Best of the Fest” short plays for this exclusive CITY SHORTS production. The plays, running ten minutes or less, include entertaining classics and brand new work celebrating City Theatre’s 22 seasons. Performed by an ensemble of South Florida professional artists, CITY SHORTS will captivate City Theatre’s veteran SUMMER SHORTS audiences and introduce the award-winning company and its work to new audiences.
Directed by Gail S. Garrisan, the all-star cast features Andres Maldonado, Carol Sussman, Christina Groom, Jim Gibbons, Jennifer Zabalo and Patrick Rodriguez.
Eclectic as always, the heavy-on-comedy lineup includes Storm on Storm by Gary Garrison, Survival Strategy by Donna Hoke, The Reality Principle by David Ebenbach (World Premiere), I am Drinking the Goddamn Sun by Brian P.J. Cronin, Medea by Christopher Durang, Halftime by Richard Dresser, The One by Sheri Wilner, Seriously and Invisible by Gail S. Garrisan (Mini World Premieres), “Heyyy” Day by Joshua Jean-Baptiste (Mini World Premiere) and La Manzanilla de la Muerte by City Theatre Co-Founder and Literary Director Susan J. Westfall.
Don’t miss this fantastic CITY SHORTS production that just wrapped up a SOLD-OUT run on Key Biscayne!
