Feb 25th & 26th, 2006.The Chopin Foundation of the United States is proud to continue their 2005-2006 Chopin Festival Season presenting the 4th Prize Winner of the 7th National Chopin Piano Competition, Esther Park, on Saturday, February 25, 2006 at 7:00 PM, at the Broward County Main Library, 100 S. Andrews Avenue in Ft. Lauderdale and on Sunday, February 26, 2006, 3:00 PM, at the Granada Presbyterian Church, 950 University Drive in Coral Gables. Esther Park was the Bronze Medal Winner of the 2005 China-Shanghai International Competition as well as a Finalist of the 2005 National Chopin Piano Competition of the U.S. She has won awards from such competitions as the 2004 Gina Bachauer Piano Competition at the Juilliard School, the 6th Paderewski International Piano Competition, Poland, New Jersey Young Artist Competition, the 53rd Wideman Competition, Van Cliburn-TCU Institute Young Artist Competition, Corpus Christi International Competition, Hilton Head International Competition, the 14th New Orleans International Piano Competition. Ms. Park is also a recipient of the President Clinton’s Prodigy Award. Pianist Esther Park has performed as a soloist with orchestras and in recitals across the United States as well as in Korea, China, Russia, Poland, Italy and Israel. Ms. Park has appeared as soloist with many orchestras such as Shanghai Philharmonic Orchestra, Corpus Christi Symphony, Pomeranian Philharmonic, Poland, Shreveport Symphony, the Juilliard Symphony, and the New Jersey Symphony. Born in Pusan, Korea in 1984, Ms. Park began to play in public soon after her first piano lessons at the age of four. Ms. Park moved to the United States in 1995, after being accepted to the Juilliard School’s Pre-College division where she is a full scholarship student. She has performed in master classes of Arie Vardi, Richard Goode, Leon Fleisher, Jerome Lowenthal, Andrew Litton, Joachin Achuccaro, Nelita True, and Karl Ulrich Schnabel.
