Local and global, online and in communities around the world, Media That Matters engages diverse audiences and inspires them to take action.

Miami Beach Cinematheque. June 15th, 2010. 8:00 p.m. The Miami Beach Cinematheque environmental film series in collaboration with ECOMB, the Environmental Coalition of Miami Beach, with Architecture for Humanity and nobility.org present the documentary One Peace at a Time, directed by Turk Pipkin/2009/83 mins. The film will be followed with a Q&A with Architecture For Humanity Miami Chapter Founder Jennifer T. Siqueira.

Based on The Good, The Bad and the Ugly, the film is set in the 1930s Manchurian desert where lawlessness rules and many different ethnic groups clash, and three Korean men fatefully meet each other on a train.

Apr 24th, 2010. 7:00 p.m. The Institute for Communication, Entertainment and Media of St. Thomas University presents the Red Carpet Grand Premiere of the documentary film “Blooming Hope: Harvesting Smiles in Port-de-Paix” on Saturday, April 24th, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. at the Little Haiti Cultural Center.

Apr 30th, 2010. The 4th annual Film Racing Tour will be coming to Miami on April 30th and is inviting filmmakers of all levels of experience to test their skills by creating an original short film in just 24 hours. Registration is currently open and its deadline is set to April 28th, 2010.

Miami Beach Cinematheque. Apr 8th, 2010. 8:30 p.m. The 1949 British film The Third Man will be screened at the Miami Beach Cinematheque on April 8th, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. Directed by Carol Reed, this film features Orson Welles, Alida Valli and Joseph Cotton.

Miami Beach Cinematheque. From Apr 2nd through 5th, 2010. 6:50 p.m. The Miami theatrical premiere of the Austrian/German film The White Ribbon will take place at the Miami Beach Cinematheque from April 2nd through 5th, 2010 in collaboration with Emerging Pictures. Starring Christian Friedel, Ernst Jacobi, Leonie Benesch and Ulrich Tukur, The White Ribbon was directed by Michael Haneke in 2009.

Miami Beach Cinematheque. From Apr 2nd through 4th, 2010. The 2009 documentary The Art of the Steal, directed by Don Argott, will be screened at the Miami Beach Cinematheque from April 2nd through 4th at 9:30 p.m.
