Arsht Center for the Performing Arts. November 21, 2013, 8:00 p.m.
Chicago blues king, six-time Grammy Award winner, and Kennedy Center Honoree Buddy Guy plus the original Grammy Award-winning blues prodigy Jonny Lang will play thrilling back to back sets at a one-night-only Arsht Center event.
After more than 60 years in the industry, Guy has earned his title as a blues legend. His influence on such notable musicians as Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page, Jimi Hendrix, and Stevie Ray Vaughn is remarkable. Clapton described Guy as, “the best guitarist alive.” Guy’s nine albums and countless world-wide performances prove nothing less.
From the moment Jonny Lang picked up his guitar at the age of 12, he’s been a star. Since his beginning as the headliner of Kid Jonny Lang & The Big Bang, Lang has toured with The Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, B.B. King, Blues Traveler, Sting, Jeff Beck, and, of course, Buddy Guy.
In the words of Buddy Guy, “If you don’t think you have the blues, just keep living.” This duo will bring the soul and energy of the electrifying blues sound to Miami like never before.
