Broward County’s newest opera company, Fort Lauderdale Opera Works (Opera FLOW), is pleased to announce its inaugural concert, “New Visions, New Voices.” This one-night-only performance will take place at 8pm on Friday, March 24, 2017 at the JM Family Studio Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts.
A concert celebrating contemporary American art song, “New Visions, New Voices” will feature the vocal talents of Miami-based soprano Jennifer Zamorano and Hollywood-based mezzo-soprano Shanna Nolan Gundry. They will be accompanied by Davie-based pianist Justin Landers.
These local artists will perform a variety of song cycles from composers Ben Moore, Lee Hoiby, and Ned Rorem’s “Two Poems of Edith Sitwell” and “Poems of Love and the Rain.” In addition Opera FLOW is thrilled to mount the premiere performance of Opera FLOW’s Artistic Director Jack Gardner’s song cycle “You Are the Music,” and the second performance of Andy Vores’ song cycle, “Six Songs on Poems by Margaret Atwood.”
