Dylan Terry. From Sep 28th through Nov 9th, 2008. Support art in South Florida while being surrounded by the unique and native environment at the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center. On September 28th the center opens the solo exhibition "Nature in The Gallery" by Miami based artist Dylan Terry.
Dylan Terry is a recent graduate of New College in Sarasota, Florida. A Miami native, this Coconut Grove resident attended high school at the prestigious DASH (Design and Architecture Senior High School). Terry describes his work as: “A young man aspiring to reconcile the conflicting notions of the flood archetype.”
The Biscayne Nature Center provides a unique way for children and the general public to learn about the South Florida environment by directly interacting with the natural surroundings at Bear Cut Preserve on Key Biscayne. The programs are promoting environmental education and are encouraging a responsibility of stewardship for the native local environment.
Since 1971, located in the Bear Cut Preserve in Crandon Park, Key Biscayne, the Marjory Stoneman Douglas Biscayne Nature Center has been reaching thousands of children and adults each year with environmental educational programs. Nestled among the various ecosystems of dunes, mangroves, coastal hammocks and seagrass beds of Bear Cut, the Biscayne Nature Center provides an experience like no other. The facilities, exhibits and expanded tours encourage the citizens of Miami-Dade County to preserve the magnificent and imperiled ecosystems that make South Florida like no other place on earth.
