Benise, “the Prince of Spanish Guitar”, and his Emmy Award-winning music and dance spectacular return to Miami-Dade County Auditorium on Saturday, October 12, 8pm. His newest production, “Fuego!” takes the audience on a romantic and exotic journey of music and dance that celebrates the fire, passion and spirit of Spain.
Benise debuts all new music, dance and costumes, adding his signature twist on such classics as “Granada,” “Malaguena,” “Moonlight Sonata,” “Asturias” and “Adagio.” It’s a musical adventure that includes the “Dress of a Thousand Roses,” one of the world’s largest Flamenco fans, and much more.
“Fuego!” captures world music at its best, with a show that appeals to the hearts and souls of people of all ages, cultures and musical backgrounds. Benise, armed with his Spanish guitar, is backed by a stage full of musicians and elaborately choreographed dancers. Benise handpicked the Gitanas, the dancers in “Fuego!,” from a global pool of brilliantly diverse talent. Flamenco dancers take center stage in Benise’s tribute to Old World Spain. Breathtaking couture fashion, innovative staging, and choreography give Spanish dance a fresh and luminous makeover.
For Benise, music has always been a journey. From his humble beginnings as a self-taught street performer at age 11, to a guitar virtuoso and composer performing around the world. “I wanted to push the boundaries of traditional Nuevo Flamenco/Spanish guitar while combining the elements of dance and theater. This show is a celebration of Music, Love, and Life,” comments the composer and creative force behind “Fuego!”
