New Art Fair. June 14th through June 18th, 2006BaleLatina announces its inaugural fair showcasing the most generative and forceful Latin artists from all over the world. June 14th through 18th will mark the first edition of BaleLatina, a new art fair being held during Art Basel featuring the most distinctive and innovative Latin artists worldwide. BaleLatina, endorsed by Sam Keller, Director of Art Basel, is an exciting addition to the Basel schedule. It will serve as an unparalleled cross culture platform presenting emerging contemporary Latin art to the international world. BaleLatina’s launch will take place in a climate where the art world’s most notable collectors, curators, and press will have the opportunity to view and evaluate the best of emerging Latin art. BaleLatina will be held in ‘Brasilea’ Kulturhaus, an exhibition space conveniently located on the banks of the Rhine. The venue will consist of approximately sixteen galleries presenting painting, sculpture, installation, photography, video, performance and digital art. The location also offers, five exterior installation spaces ­ water, docks, crane and terrace- to present alternative projects. The fair will open daily from 11am to 9pm.
