Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida closes a spectacular 20th Season with two enchanting shows in celebration of Russian Ballet’s acclaimed master, Marius Petipa — with excerpts of his great challenging pas de deux that include: Black Swan, La Bayadere, Talisman, Flames of Paris, Don Quixote and of the Divertissements of Le Corsaire. The “Father of Classical Ballet,” Petipa’s dances demand the highest technical standard and are innovations of ballet.
Show patrons may capture these enthralling shows on Saturday, April 28, at 7:30 p.m. at the Aventura Arts & Cultural Center and Sunday, April 29 at 5:00 p.m. at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, Amaturo Theater.
The sensational performances are staged and visualized by Artistic Director and Maestro of Art Ballet Theatre of Florida, Vladimir Issaev. Theatre soloists are deemed some of the best in the country. Technically impressive, internally known, winners of numerous awards from important professional ballet competitions, and culturally diverse.
As a highlight, principal dancer and prima ballerina Mary Carmen Catoya will perform the Pas de Deux Don Quixote, next to Kevin Zong. This Pas de Deux is her trademark and a favorite of all here followers.
