Arts Ballet Theatre of Florida, under the direction of Vladimir Issaev, will be opening its 20th season with an exciting repertoire.
The company will feature two new important works for the company: “Nuestros Valses” by Venezuelan choreographer Vicente Nebrada. This piece has been performed by some of the most important international ballet companies in the US, South America and Europe. Considered the most “Nebradian” piece by excellence, Nuestros Valses is a very demanding piece for the six couples interpreting it.
The wonderful music was composed by XIX century Venezuelan composers Ramón Delgado Palacios and Teresa Carreño
The second new piece “Viva España” is under the responsibility of Artistic Director Vladimir Issaev himself. With the exhilarating music by Massenet, based on the epic story of “El Cid”, Issaev brings to South Florida audiences a piece of pure bravura on the Spanish style.
Issaev’s dancers are also excited and proud to present choreographer Yanis Pikieris’ exuberant piece “Danzon”, with music by Mexican composer Alberto Marquez.
Prima ballerina Mary Carmen Catoya along with Kazuya Arima will perform the beautiful adagio recently created and part of a work in progress by Vladimir Issaev based on the movie “Vertigo” on a libretto by Baltasar Santiago Martin.
The company dancers include prima ballerina Mary Carmen Catoya along with the most impressive international and local dancers: Janis Liu (Hong Kong), Haowei Zhu (China ), Kazuya Arima, Yudai Colaiani, Hinano Eto, Rieko Hatato, Masanao Ito, Saori Morioka, Izumi Masaki (Japan) , Lusian Hernandez (Venezuela), Johnny Almeida (Brazil) , Georgia Brinkman, , Lily Davidson, Yasamin Haghayegh, Emily Parnell and Kevin Zong (USA), among others.
