Through Dec 31, 2010.
The December exhibition being held at Art Modern Gallery might change the way you look at paper. “Perspectives”, the month-long exhibit at in the gallery, features works on paper from artists who were and still are some of the most influential creators from the past century. The resulting compilation features works by such illustrious artists as Robert Rauschenberg, Alex Katz, Larry Rivers, Ellsworth Kelley, Helen Frankenthaler, Jim Dine, Willem de Kooning, Sol Lewitt, Louise Nevelson, Ed Ruscha, Robert Motherwell, Milton Avery and many others.
“Perspectives” is a diverse collection of bold and aggressive works in a range of different styles not normally found in the same exhibition. The common thread within the exhibit is the artists’ influence on the art world and how their perspectives have helped evolve the contemporary art movement during the 20th century. Adding to the allure of the show is the fact that all the works are editions, prints and illustrate how successfully the artists’ work translated from all different mediums onto paper.
Relatively new to Miami Beach, Art Modern Gallery houses the most diverse collection, specializing in Modern, POP, Urban, Contemporary Fine Art and Photography along with emerging artists’ new offerings. Robert Fontaine, the director of the gallery, is responsible for the exhibitions featuring the works of modern masters and spotlighting emerging global artists who are making an impact in the art world.
