The Rebirth of a Chicago Treasure From Apr 26th through Apr 20th, 2007Chicago’s broad shoulders will extend their powerful reach to embrace the energy and excitement of a city-wide celebration of art, antiques and culture called Artropolis. A wide-range of world-class cultural experiences will create dynamic, compelling reasons for contemporary art collectors, curators and enthusiasts from around the globe to visit Chicago. At the center of it all will be Art Chicago – one of America’s great international contemporary art expositions featuring 132 galleries known and respected by collectors worldwide. In addition to Art Chicago, four satellite art and antiques shows will be co-located at The Merchandise Mart ensuring it of being the gravitational center of Artropolis. There will be a total of about 400 galleries, dealers and artists participating in the five art and antiques shows.
