From Jun 14th through 17th, 2010.
June heats up with the hot art event Divine Debris & Glorious Trash that starts on the 14th through the 17th at the very cool Miami Beach Botanical Gardens. The opening reception takes place on June 15th at 7:00 p.m. The show features artwork made from found, discarded and recycled objects. The result: works that celebrate the reinvention of castoffs in media ranging from sculpture and assemblage, to painting, photography and more.
The whole country is “going green” over energy-conserving, money-saving products and services. The art world can help lead the way in creative ways of recycling discarded and used objects. A little ingenuity can convert paper and metal and wood and plastic and rope, etc. into great works of art!
Sixteen artists are included in the exhibit, including co-curators Paula Turk (founding director of ArtShare) and Carol Hoffman (founding director of the Arts at St. Johns). Other artists in the exhibition are Kathi Gibson, Janet M Mueller, Stefan Von Fouts, Hans Feyerabend, Mila Hajjar, Rosa Naday Garmendia, Roger Abramson
Dan Walker, Kristie Stephenson, Nancy Martini, Jerry McMillan, Luciano Rabuske, Rosie Brown and Kerri Kobialka.
