Winner of the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, Topdog/Underdog, is a dark comedy revolving around two African American brothers, Lincoln and Booth, whose names were given to them by their father as a joke before deserting them, but foretelling a lifetime of sibling rivalry and resentment.
Now in their thirties, they must rely on each other for survival and company, coping with women, work, poverty, gambling, racism, and their troubled upbringings, in their attempts to survive. Haunted by the past, the brothers are forced to confront the shattering reality of their future.
