Meet Jessica Alba discussing The Honest Life: Living Naturally and True to You

For Jessica Alba becoming a mom was the most profound, life-changing and eye-opening experience of her life. Upon becoming pregnant with her daughter Honor (now four), Alba set out to create a healthy environment for her family and herself. However, what she found was a marketplace filled with products that worked well but were filled with toxic chemicals or a not-so-cute, pricier eco-alternative that didn’t actually get the job done. Convinced that we could “have it all,” Jessica created The Honest Company – a nontoxic, eco-friendly, beautifully stylish family products brand that offers effective essentials for every member of the household.  Now with her first book, Alba takes you through her own personal journey of discovery, and shares the insights and strategies she’s gathered along the way.

The Honest Life is a fun and practical handbook for busy women (especially moms!) who are looking to make smart choices about living a healthy, natural lifestyle–without being “boring,” “beige,” or “blah.” The book is designed so you can read from cover to cover or jump around to the topics that interest you most.

Jessica Alba is known around the world as an actress, humanitarian, entrepreneur and fashion icon.  She is an environmental and social justice activist and cofounder of The Honest Company. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband and their two daughters.

The interviewer Jackie Nespral is an Emmy award-winning journalist who became the first Hispanic ever to anchor a network news program when she was tapped for NBC’s Weekend Today show in 1991. After commuting between Miami and New York for three years, she chose to continue her career in South Florida with NBC Miami. Nespral and husband Armando are proud parents of daughters Carolina, Frances, Isabella and son Armando Jr.

This event is free and open to the public. Jessica’s talk will be followed by a book signing. Only those books purchased at Books & Books will be eligible for signing. Jessica will personalize books. There will be a designated photographer present to help you snap a picture with her.
