January 17 through 21, 2013. Noon – 10:00 p.m.
The Miami International Art Fair – MIA – returns to SeaFair, the one-of-a-kind $40m waterfront venue docked in Downtown Miami, for its 4th edition on January 17th – 21st. Gathering an international collection of galleries from as far as Beijing to Buenos Aires, the fair will present a dynamic display of some of the 21st century’s most promising established and emerging artists.
Cutting edge artwork in a broad scope of mediums will be available to collectors to peruse, including painting, mixed media, photography, sculpture, works on paper and contemporary jewelry design. Special exhibitions and “project rooms” will be highlighted, including an interactive installation from light painter, Jadikan LP, presented by Art Vitam (Paris + Miami) and a special exhibition of light works from Stephen Knapp, exhibiting at the LOWE Museum January 25th.
Collectors will have more than the 27 onboard galleries of artwork to enjoy. Fair programming includes informative lectures, wine tastings and a unique “Meet the Artist” series. Featured daily, Friday – Sunday, will be regional wine tastings – showcasing fine wines from California, Tuscany and France – presented by Stefano Campanini, Owner of Wine by the Bay. All tastings are by separate ticket. Tickets can be purchased on the fair website.
The Preview evening on January 17th begins with a First View exclusively for MOCA Shaker’s members followed by a Collectors’ Invitational for additional VIP collectors and guests.
