From December 4 through 9, 2012.
The International Contemporary Jewelry Fair (ICJF) will offer an innovative and global collection of jewelry design. The inaugural event is set to debut aboard the 228′ exhibition megayacht, SeaFair, December 4 through 9, as international collectors, leading contemporary galleries, art dealers and global glitterati meet in Miami for America’s largest annual “contemporary art week” surrounding Art Basel Miami Beach.
ICJF provides an innovative new fair forum for jewelers, art collectors, and artistically focused connoisseurs. This fresh, exciting format features a broad range of contemporary jewelry – many of which are bespoke or “one-of-a-kind” – by designers, major brands, and artisans. Increasingly recognized as an extension of the visual arts fields of painting, sculpture, and new art forms, contemporary and modern jewelry has become a regular feature at many art galleries, art fairs, and major museums. Jewelry is an important part of the global auction schedules at Christie’s and Sotheby’s and is universally recognized as a collectible asset class.
Exhibitors will be participating from over 8 countries including Italy, Spain, Philippines, Lebanon, Australia, Brazil, Germany and United States of America.
Among the highlights, old world master craftsmanship meets avant-garde design with an all-star line up from Europe. With more than 200 years of history in jewelry, Bagues Masriera (Barcelona) will present the Masriera Art Jewelry: a collection of exquisite Art Nouveau/Art Deco jewels designed by genius Masriera, contemporary of Antoni Gaudi.
Italian style at its finest, ICJF will have works from well-established design houses Chantecler (Capri), Dario & Peter (Vicenza), Opera Omnia (Milan), Scavia (Milan), Vendorafa (Valenza) and Zydo (Milan).
Presenting exotic pearls from the depths of the deep South Seas, Autore (Australia) is one of the largest South Sea pearl sources in the world. Founded in 1991, their spectacular creations have adorned the red carpet upon the necks of some of Hollywood’s most beautiful and influential women including Angelina Jolie, Uma Thurman, Scarlett Johansson, Liv Tyler, Cate Blanchett and Halle Berry. From the Philippines, Jewelmer will bring an exquisite and rare collection of golden Palawan South Sea pearls. With over 30 years experience, Jewelmer is the only pearl producer in the world that has successfully produced pearls with a unique rich, natural golden color.
From the US, Arunashi (Los Angeles), Daniel K (New York), Emsaru (New York), La Reina Collection (Los Angeles), Oliver & Espig (Santa Barbara), Ray Griffiths (New York), Reinstein/Ross Goldsmiths (New York) and Willow Co. (Lawrenceville) will present pieces from their latest collections including one-of-a-kind works.
The fair will also feature a collection of established and emerging designers and artisans including Yael Sonia (Brazil), Lauren Harper Collection (Chicago), llyn strong (Greenville), and Rachel Dugger (Miami).
Designed to appeal to sophisticated art collectors and jewelry connoisseurs – ICJF will be held aboard the luxurious 228′ purpose built megayacht, SeaFair, in the heart of Downtown Miami at Chopin Plaza. The extraordinary exhibition yacht provides the ultimate upscale environment for ICJF’s discerning private clientele. As the only evening fair venue during Art Basel Miami week, ICJF offers an exciting new “nighttime” destination for visitors and is strategically located in the midst of Miami’s 5-star hotels and exciting downtown arts & entertainment district.
On December 4th, ICJF will open with a preview party hosted by diplomatic representatives of Italy, Brazil, Spain, Australia, Philippines and Lebanon. Regular fair hours will be from 1:00 to 10:00 p.m., December 5 through 9. For easy accessibility, convenient valet and self-parking will be available throughout the fair.
